The second volume begins with the topic of pre-squeeze, and deals with the dyad squeeze (our name for compound squeeze) and more articulated forms of double squeeze. However, the second volume does not include the forms of double squeeze in which the extra trick establishment happens after the squeeze effect, with a ruff or with a duck (we describe these forms in the third volume).
The pre-squeeze action that characterizes the dyad models is the preparatory phase for the actual squeeze, therefore it is not useful to obtain the extra trick, but it enables to produce the necessary conditions for one or another effective squeeze (double squeeze).
We deal with the following forms of double squeeze:
- the sequential double squeeze; its execution takes place in two stages – unlike the simultaneous ones, seen in the first volume, where the squeeze card acts simultaneously on both opponents;
- the double guard squeeze, in which a possible outcome of the endgame is a finesse;
- forms that combine the previous characteristics
- and those squeezes where the squeeze card is not provided by the fourth suit, as is almost always the case, but by the master card of one of the three threats.
